So delicious and great guidance for flavorful soul food without the suffering.
This book is so beautifully written and has guidance in the beginning that teaches you about soul food and it’s roots. I loved being able to truly learn about the history of each spice and ingredient, that was a true blessing. The recipes are beautifully crafted as well and have been delicious!!! Soulful healing indeed!!

I Need A Visual
The recipes look amazing. I am no longer a full practicing vegan but still enjoy seeing different recipes and styles from others. My ONLY MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT IS NO PICTURES TO ACCOMPANY THE RECIPES. For that new vegan or even a person new in the kitchen. An oyster mushroom may not have been anything they have ever seen or Jackfruit. So that final view of what pulled Jackfruit might be helpful. Just my thoughts, but I look forward to added or maybe attempting some of these recipes the hesitation is what it’s supposed to look like at the end lol.

It will be great Christmas gift, thank you.

We have so far tried 6 recipes from this book, I like to support independent vegan writers and think this is a good addition to our collectionThere are a good range of recipes to choose from but some of them are extremely basic, for example the chilli recipe has no added oumph, the gumbo uses pre made meats as part of the recipes and so do a few others, which I found disappointing as bosh has a great gumbo recipeIMO this book has a range of beginner to intermediate level recipes so is great for everyoneThere are however no photographs of the recipes which is why I have given 3 stars (only the chapter covers have images) but overall I’m happy with the selection of recipes as there are new meals I don’t currently have recipes forOur favourite so far is the jackfruit ribs and the corn bread (both pictured) and I look forward to trying more!

Not happy, I was sent the wrong item so someone is going to miss out this Christmas. I’m sure the actual cook book will be great. That’s the only reason I’ve given it 1 star
