Delicious wholesome recipes
Our family has been vegan for many years, and we were looking for some new recipes to add into our rotation. I have never had a cookbook I enjoy this many recipes out of. Delicious, wholesome. Only one wasn’t a giant hit, the rest, I am told I can make them every night. Best cookbook I own.

Great book, I recommend it 🙂
The book is high quality, and it has great recipes from what I’ve tried so far. My only two complaints is that sometimes you’ll see an ingredient that might be difficult to get, and that there aren’t pictures for every recipe. But, you can easily leave out or substitute those ingredients, I’ve found, and the instructions are clear enough to where you don’t really need a picture of what the food should look like (but it would still be nice to have more pictures). I also like the wealth of information that she puts at the beginning of the book concerning vegan diets and nutrition, and pantry items, and I also like that she included a Further Reading section in the back. All in all this is a great book to have, and I hope that Jackie Jones will write more cookbooks in the future – hopefully a, “The British Vegan Cookbook”.

I saw this book whilst on holiday on the Isle of Arran in Scotland. As a vegan there were certain foods that I was missing out on during my trip, but equally there were many places serving traditional scottish meals that had been veganised. After returning home I decided to order the book, which covers many of the staples to a vegan scottish diet, and it is great. The menu can be used all year around. It includes your vegan haggis, lorne sausage and also a variety of desserts.Good:- Good Mix- Traditional Scottish Cuisine- Easy to followBad:- Some recipes are complex with the number of spices / ingredients making experiments a little bit expensive if you get it wrong. It’s a good fun book for any vegan that would like to try / enjoy / or experiment with Scottish Cuisine.

I’m vegetarian and flirting with veganism and I saw this in a bookshop before the lockdown and it looked quite good. As the Covid-19 crisis started to unfold, I noticed that my local supermarket had bare shelves for tins and frozen food but fresh fruit and veg was abundant. Hmmm .. even though I try to cook with fresh food, I decided to was time to up the ante and bought this from Amazon. Very impressed and now have made quite a few of the recipes and they have all turned out well. I’m not being slavishly vegan but using the book to get ideas for using fresh fruit and veg. Every recipe book has things that you are just not interested in fair enough and there are some here that I’m not bothered with likes soups and salads but then again others may like them. A particular favourite is a breakfast dish with chia seeds and porridge soaked overnight in milk and with dried and fresh fruit. It is stunning and becoming my regular breakfast. I am like the energiser Bunny on speed after it. Another example is a very easily made chia jam with raspberries. So yes there will be recipes that you may not be interested in but the ones you are will make up for that and I think it is worth my 5 stars

I struggle for regional dishes that are vegan or vegetarian. This book is full of interesting adaptations which work well.
