My dogs love it
I previously fed things like instinct frozen raw and a variety of freeze dried raw/air dried foods with some kibble. Since the bird flu has been detected in raw pet food I decided to try feed gently cooked for the time being. I’ve never been a fan of the fresh foods bc I don’t like how much pea protein they use and they usually smell awful. I think this route could be more or less expensive depending on the price of the meat I buy. I have one picky dog in the way that she eats around any large pieces of veggies and one dog that will eat anything. My pickier dog loves this stuff. I’m sure the fresh meat and bone broth I add help to entice her, but I appreciate how small the veggie pieces are. The first picture I included is of them licking their empty bowls. They do that for a good five minutes. I supplement with my favorite kibble every so often to keep the price down. So far I’ve added ground beef, turkey, bison, and pork. As well as a small amount of beef liver. I like to switch up meats every other day or so and/or freeze portions in silicone molds for later. I wouldn’t recommend starting out that way, but my dogs are used to it. So far, I don’t have any complaints. I think the size of the box is decent for the price and I think this is a much better option than the super pricey fresh foods on the market. It’s definitely more work, but I don’t mind. 5/5 for me.* This is a one month update and I’m still very much pleased with this food. Their coats are just as shiny and healthy on this food as they were on raw food. That’s very important to me bc my small dog has skin/coat issues and my larger dog has ear infections if their food quality isn’t up to par.

Beloved dog loves it!
I have been through the kibble stage, the canned food combined with kibble stage, freshly prepared food stage, which was time consuming and expensive, until I discovered the Honest Kitchen. My lab mix, Buddy who was a picky eater endorses it. His overall health has improved, his coat is shiny and his “ahem, poop is regular (i am an obsessive poop checking mom!). Buddy weighs about 75lb and he gets 1 and a 1/4 cups twice a day. Be certain to add enough water and then let it sit for 3 minutes, because the mixture does swell. The Honest Kitchen is Buddy approved.

has everything healthy +other nutrients
my 2 dogs ,small one is 18 lbs ,other 10,one a senior ,other 2 yrs.was surprised how they really loved this along with the ground turkey i add to their bowls.takes the guess work out of what veggies and fruits to buy and how much and trying to add nutrients they need. this a keeper and is easier on the pocket book. all i have to buy is the meat.so happy they are loving this and lick their bowls clean

Saved my yorkipoo with pancreatitis
I have an 18 pound yorkipoo that developed severe pancreatitis. After treatment which cost a fortune, my vet said that my dog could never again eat food that had more than 7% fat and the food had to be grained based, since studies have shown that grain free food has a tendency to create heart issues in dogs.I tried several low fat dog foods the vet recommended as well as others and she would not eat any of them. Finally I decided to see if Honest Kitchen had a solution since I had fed it to my last yorkipoo with great success. All their meat based foods were too high in fat–until I discovered this whole grain base mix which has 5% fat. I mixed it with chicken breast and finally my yorkipoo ate.My dog has been doing great on this food. I make it one week with chicken breast, one week with turkey breast and in between sometimes half a scrambled egg and some no salt albacore tuna, though this is more fattening, so I watch her bowel movements closely to make certain they are all right.I highly recommend trying this mix if you have a dog with pancreatitis. Though expensive, the base mix is way easier to feed than having to make it yourself and I know she’s getting all the calcium and minerals she is supposed to have, which is so much easier than trying to figure it out yourself.

Very sick dog
I was using the turkey base to top off her kibble and she did fine with that. I decided to try the base mix and I noticed her stomach making noise. After being on it for 3 days she is very sick and continually vomiting.

My dog loves this.
My 4 year old dalmation loves this. He goes back to make sure the bowl is gone. I started him young on steamed veggies with flax oil and chicken. He cant eat turkey or beef due to his breeding. Hes use to eating a well balanced diet with minimal kibble. Glad he loves this. I figures i would try 3lbs and if he didnt like it than im only out $30. He even likes the dry kibble. I will buy more.

The product is great!
Love this product and so do my dogs. Basically dehydrated veges, fruits and nuts, which I use with raw meat. That said, it is way overpackaged! Heavy exterior brown cardboard box, Interior heavy cardboard box and a poor quality plastic ziplock inside of that. Grrr. HEB markets their grain-free kibble in a heavy bag with a built in ziplock that works perfectly. Just an exterior shipping bag needed. I mean, it’s dehydrated vegetable material, not gemstones! You could maybe even lower price. 😂
