If there was one simple change you could make in your life to help prevent future pandemics, would you do it?Each year billions of people become ill or die from zoonotic diseases because of our shocking and often hidden mistreatment of farmed animals in the current industrial food system.
We now know that high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity have a much higher risk of Covid-related mortality.
Research shows that a diet laden with meat and other animal products is a huge factor in the development of these diseases.
And it’s been proven that wholefood, plant-based diets reduce the risk of all these health conditions (including the severity of Covid).
This means that changing the way we eat has never been more critical.
In this groundbreaking book, Todd Sinclair—former dairy farmer turned bestselling author and longtime activist—shows us how a vegan lifestyle is the foundation for our personal and global health.
But while the solution is straightforward, making the changes can seem overwhelming.

Great Book For All Things Vegan
This book on plant based nutrition is a must read. The author understands that we all have our own unique relationship with food, and this makes the book relatable. This book is going to show you how our diet and health are linked; tips for eating out; the weight loss angle in regards to veganism; diseases connected to eating meat; well thought out arguments for living a vegan life; eye opening photos; and tips for staying motivated. The visual aids provide another route to understand the author’s points. With many memorable quotes such as “At the core of veganism is compassion,” and well organized chapters, this book is going to assist you in your journey to being vegan. The author draws from his past experiences and makes this guide personal. He addresses the environmental factors involved with veganism; personal health issues; and social factors. He adds in the Covid connection, and then goes into all of the nutrients needed to be healthy, and breaks them down in an easy to read and understand fashion. The best part is the 4 week transition guide to veganism, broken down week by week, with menu guides, recipes, pantry lists, and handy foods lists. At the end of the book, you will find resources galore – this book is an incredible resource for all things vegan!

Vegan and how it’s best
Well I gave this four stars because I don’t agree completely but also I can understand where he is coming from with his explanations of why being vegan is best. From it helping with health and overall better living. Also his argument over how our livestock gets treated with the process of raising to slaughter and then how it’s treated after. And how animals like cows and pigs are looked at as food where other animals like cats and dogs as pets. I think this book has a lot of good information especially for people considering a vegan lifestyle and even for people who still eat meat to get them to see how the process of getting food like cows and other animals to table is not great. Again four stars because it is good but to me not worthy of five.

informative
this is the third book by Todd Sinclair that I have read on veganism and this one impressed me the most. he has a good stance towards those just beginning to learn about veganism and even those who aren’t vegan. he is very thorough in his research and his organization of the information is well done. Iam not vegan, nor do I want to be. so when I say Mr. Sinclair’s approach made an impression on me, Ithink that is saying something. he made a comment “you don’t have to be a vegan every day, but every single day you are you …” and then he lists environmental benefits. I could commit to one day a week, because even one day makes a difference. overall, this book is anexcellent introduction to veganism. if you are curious about veganism or looking to jump rightin, I highly recommend this book.

Veganism great introduction
I really enjoyed this book. I have had many of the misconceptions about food/nutrition myths that have been part of our culture opened up and examples given to make a change as I want to make changes. For myself this book has come at a good time as I’m looking to making changes in my dietary habits due to my health. The book shares a process of becoming vegan or adapting more vegan practices that are easy to follow and are not militant in nature. There are recipes and resources available that look appetizing and appealing for beginners to use. I found the information helpful and easy to follow and haven’t felt like I was wrong for this not being my lifestyle already. I’m looking forward to reading the accompanying books to this one.

Excellent and extremely helpful! A real eye opener!
As a person who is new to the idea of veganism, I truly appreciate how the author explains all of the nutritional aspects of a vegan diet, including the best sources of all essential nutrients in both non vegan and vegan foods, and also includes health conditions that would benefit from vegan foods as opposed to non vegan foods. The section containing recipes, and a daily meal plan to help you get started is an added bonus for anyone who is new to vegan cooking and might feel unsure about how to incorporate this way of eating into their lifestyle. This is an excellent teaching guide that would be a great choice for both new and experienced Vegans alike!

This is a wonderful book for a beginner vegan. Non-judgemental and inclusive of of all who are just starting and bound to make mistakes. The author acknowledges that each one of us will have a different journey and that there isn’t only one way to lead a more plant based lifestyle. I really appreciate being included even though I am a true beginner. Thank you Todd Sinclair for sharing your passion without being preachy. Well done!

I’m no avid reviewer, esp. on Amazon but I think the “Vegan Rebel”, books by Todd Sinclair could be this year’s Vegan “essentials” and I highly recommend them to both the vegan-curious and the more committed.I think the “Beginners Guide” has an easy informative style, excellent deign and layout, which IMO will greatly assist in guiding newcomers – glad I bought the book over the kindle. With a warm and enthusiastic style, this introduction to the lifestyle, covers all the major areas of concern, and more. The mix of style, content and layout rewards both methodical readers and those who prefer to dip in and out of their reads.Committed vegans won’t be disappointed, expect to find much of value in this nicely presented 250 page gem, rich in illustrations, realistic tasty recipes and useful tables & guides covering ingredients, foodstuffs, nutritional notes and more.Todd Sinclair’s extensive experience of veganism. combined with enviable travel experiences, enables him to offer much here which IMO simply can’t be found in established and often more narrowly focused (dare I say “stuffy”) books such as, “The Plant-Based Solution”, “Real Forbidden Fruit” and “Veganism for Beginners”.In this “Rebel” guide I particularly liked the parts with travel locations and activities, festivals and events, online groups, plus an upto date reading list, suggestions for documentaries and links to exclusive additional recipes for readers. This is a great little book, sure to please, perfect as a gift to a good friend.
