Norman Approved!
Our little guy, Norman Charles, has battled with allergies and anxiety for the past couple of years. It’s resulted in lots of trials and journal writing for us to get his conditions under control. One of the things I looked at was changing all the proteins in his diet. It’s hard to find something that doesn’t have chicken in it! These were recommended at the pet store we get his food at.At first, the price was a bit of a sticker shock, but thankfully Amazon’s Subscribe & Save makes it a little cheaper. Either way, I’d still spend the money as these are limited ingredient and don’t have chicken in them. The individual wrapper is a little wasteful, but they stay fresh and I can split one chew up between Norman and his brother, Pappy, who also gets a fish oil supplement. When Norman needs his allergy pill twice a day (which happens intermittently), I can easily get 3 doses out of one chew. They can be a little crumbly when breaking apart or wrapping around a pill, but that doesn’t really bother me as they’re still moist enough to collect the little pieces back into the chew.As for the flavor, I may not be able to personally speak to that, but both dogs look forward to getting their medicine and get impatient when they hear the wrapper being opened. I’ll take that as a great positive. So, limited ingredient, no chicken protein, ease of giving medication plus auto delivery…I’ll take that as a win! (Note: Picture is using only one half a chew for 2 fish oil supplements)

Easy to use and dogs LOVE them.
If you have a dog that needs medication of any kind, you know how problematic that can be. They typically wont just take the pill by itself as they must taste and smell horrible!You could use peanut butter, but assuming your dog likes it, their face gets messy and you have to stand there while your pet licks the spoon clean to make sure they actually take the medicine.You could use lunchmeat, but then you need to have fresh stuff around all the time and it’s really not that healthy for the dog.Some companies make paste that you can scoop out with your fingers (yuk) or a spoon (but that’s no better than peanut butter and more expensive).These treats are the best! They are super soft and easy to hide a pill, but the best part is as soon as I unwrap one, my dog can smell it, obediently sits and is eager to gobble it right up!I do wish they weren’t individually wrapped (there is already enough plastic waste in the world) but this way they do stay soft, fresh and flavorful so its a trade off I’m willing to make for my dog.Highly recommended.

Nice Pill Pocket alternative
Commercial Pill Pockets give my dog diarrhea. He is on daily medication and peanut butter is too messy to try to hide pills in, so we were looking for an alternative. My dog has a very sensitive gut (so much so that he is on a prescription diet for it). While researching pill hiders, I had strict criteria. 1 limited ingredient 2 softness 3 affordability 4 prime eligible 5 dog tolerance1. Being meat free, was expecting a low number of ingredients. That was not the case. 14 ingredients. But, recognizable ingredients.2. These are very soft and pliable. They are easy to mold around various shape pills. To make them even better, they are wrapped individually. They are large in size so we are able to do multiple pills from 1 treat. We wrap the unused portion in the wrapper and are able to get multiple uses from 1 treat, but even the next day after being open it is still amazingly soft.3. Affordability – for the price and number of treats per package, makes them even more affordable than Pill Pockets.4. Prime eligible – they are! Fast, free shipping.5. Dog tolerance – these are gentle snacks on my dogs stomach, he loves the taste, he eagerly waits as we get his medicine together.10/10 recommend.

I have some issue with them being sneaky
I purchased the 30 count of these because they said natural and my dog has to be has to have pills 2 x a day for the rest of his life because he has seizures. I was please with the product and he eats them without any fuss. I then ordered the “same” product just in the 90 count. When I received the new bag I noticed some differences that is frustrating to me. In the two pictures you can see the illusion that they are the same thing but if you compare, they are NOT! THE 30 count bag says nothing artificial and roasted chicken recipe. The 90 count bag does not list the nothing artificial on it and it says “with” chicken. The color between the two pill treats are noticeably different and the 30 count has the logo on each individually wrap pill pocket, as to where the 90 count bag looks different and there is nothing written on the wrapped packet.The ingredients are different also. The 90 count says chicken paste…ewwwAnd the 30 count says chicken.All that to say. I am returning them and going to buy the 30 count bag again. It’s just irritating to try and find better options for our fur babies when these companies are just trying to pull something over our eyes to make it look like the same product. I have enough to worry over with him having seizures. I don’t need to be giving him more harmful things when they are supposed to be a more natural option!

Nice natural alternative to pill pockets!
I recently purchased the Presidio Pill Buddy Naturals – PB & Apple Recipe Pill Hide as a natural alternative for my dog who requires daily medication.These pill hides have been a game-changer in administering his pills, as he used to be very finicky and would often spit out his medication. The PB & Apple flavor seems to be quite appealing to him, and he eagerly gobbles up his pill hidden inside. The soft texture of the hide makes it easy to mold around the pill. However, I noticed that occasionally the pill hide can become a bit sticky and leave a residue on my hands. They come individually wrapped, which is a nice plus to help keep them fresh. Overall, I am pleased with this product and would recommend it to pet owners struggling to give their pets medication.

My dog has arthritis & first stage kidney disease. She takes 5 pills a day or more. With these pill pops, I can pinch off a piece, hide a pill or two and she eats them up. No fighting. Saves us some money, as one individual package usually covers a 24 hour period. These fit her special diet parameters.We are very happy with this product. It is made in Canada.
