Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller
Save money, reduce food waste, and eat healthier than you ever have before with this highly anticipated cookbook from New York Times bestselling author and social media sensation, Carleigh Bodrug.
Spinning off of Bodrug’s wildly popular Scrappy Cooking social media series, the cookbook is packed with over 150+ whole-food, plant-based recipes that show the reader how to make the most of the food they have in their fridge and pantry with easy and approachable vegan recipes anyone can make.
Transform radish tops into pesto, broccoli stems into summer rolls and wilting greens into smoothie cubes… But that’s not all. The book will equip readers with not only the tools to make the most of their scraps, but use up just about any vegetable, grain or bean from their fridge and pantry in the flexible Kitchen Raid Recipes, or cross reference commonly wasted foods like stale bread from a “Got This, Make That” index so these items can be used up in the easiest and most delicious way possible.
Scrappy Cooking not only puts the focus on eating a diet that’s more conscious for our environment (and our wallets) but our health as well. Every recipe in the book is vegan, almost entirely oil free, and focuses on whole, plant-based foods that are good for our bodies and the planet. Get ready for recipes like The Whole Darn Squash (Pasta), Skillet Lasagna, One Pan Orzo Casserole, Vodka Penne With Broccolini, Whole Roasted Cauliflower with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, Chickpea Pot Pie, Orange Peel Chickn’, Loaded Tortilla Bowls, Sheet Pan Tacos with Carrot Top Chimichurri, Rebel “Ribs”, Veggie Masala Burgers, Palak “Paneer”, Vegan Meaty Hand Pies, We-Got-the-Beet Chips, Pickle-Mania Chips, Cornmeal Biscuits, Bang Bang Broccoli-cious Steaks…and more!

A MUST HAVE in a Plant-Based Kitchen
Carleigh Bodrug’s new cookbook, “Plantyou Scrappy Cooking,” is a game-changer in the world of plant-based cooking. This cookbook stands out as one of the most well-thought-out and user-friendly cookbooks I’ve ever seen. The collection of recipes is outstanding, focusing on using little to no oil and simple ingredients that most of us already have in our kitchens. This approach makes it incredibly easy to dive into cooking without the need for special trips to the grocery store. One of the standout features of this cookbook is its readability. The font is large enough and dark enough to make reading a breeze, even in low light. This might seem like a small detail, but it truly enhances the overall user experience, especially for those who may struggle with smaller or lighter fonts in other cookbooks.Overall, “Plantyou Scrappy Cooking” is a must-have for anyone looking to embrace a more plant-based lifestyle. It’s not just a cookbook; it’s a guide to healthier, more sustainable eating that’s accessible to everyone. Highly recommended!

Good recipes from Carleigh Borug
This book is about avoiding food waste and the author’s tips or recipes are great. Personally, I do not follow any particular diet, I have no allergy, but I am curious, so 2 years ago I bought the 1st book of C.B that remained on the shelf. A couple weeks ago, I bought the second one, and I have made the recipes since then. My husband and I really like them. They are tasty, easy and fast to make. Both books are complementary and thisbis what I like. You will not find twice the same recipe. Ingredients consist in veggies like tomatoes, cabbages, cucumber, etc., beans, rice or pasta, extra firm tofu, and fruits. For every recipe one can find the calories at the end of the books. This are NOT books to loose weight according to the author. I confirm: I did not loose any kilos. I wished there were tips on how to compose meals based on the recipes. The only negative comment I have is that some recipes seem high in carbohydrates, even if I never add the indicated maple syrup or coconut sugar. The presentation of the book is appealing. The pictures are nicely done, many are about the recipes, but also the author and her beloved. All in all, this book, like the first one, this is an interesting book to offer to oneself or friends..

BUY THIS COOKBOOK!
I have been following Carleigh for a little while now and have her first cookbook – which is fantastic – but THIS cookbook is amazing! It’s more like a really fun textbook full of amazing education but you don’t need any kind of degree to enjoy it. As a wellness coach, I love to teach about plant-based nutrition, and by far, this book is the best. The recipes are super easy to follow, the ingredient pictures help even the newbies feel confident, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that she tackles food waste. I don’t know of any other cookbook that improves your physical health, your wallet, AND the health of the planet. Brava, Carleigh! This book is a masterpiece and I can’t wait to make every recipe. (Photo is of my first – the Common Ground Granola – which is super delicious without being overly sweet like store-bought granola). Seriously, buy this book!

Fantastic – recipes, layout, concept – buy it!
I have so many plant based cookbooks, and love many of them but some of them don’t get used much because of unusual ingredients and time consuming steps. This Scrappy Cooking is delightfully the opposite – it is creatively amazing, from concept (reduce food waste with delicious recipes) to design (gorgeous photos and layout including photo ingredient lists). Every single recipe looks amazing and easy for every day cooking. Those I have made so far are delicious and I am sure I will be turning to this daily for ideas and inspiration. The ease and practicality stand out to me. How often do we go to cook and just have a bunch of odds and ends? There is a graph that organizes the recipes by ingredients, with plenty of substitution options so it’s easy to make them work on the fly. I love the gluten free and oil-free options which are important to many plant based eaters. Dessert options include dates, maple syrup, coconut sugar or monk fruit for less processed sweet options. Truly thoughtful and brilliant execution. Highly recommend!

I got this book because I was very into the premise of reducing food waste which, when you have small kids with mercurial appetites, is very much an issue. I have loved everything I’ve made so far. The Dilly Orzo soup was so, so tasty, the Feta Tofu is going to now be a regular in my life ( I snack on it straight from the jar when blood sugar gets low) and the Pantry Bean salad is a lifesaver for days I just don’t want to cook. The Peanut Butter Curry and the Golden Immunity Stew were gorgeous. My kids aren’t as interested as I’d hoped so I’m eating leftovers for days but no complaints! Super easy to follow recipes, great ideas and again, the low/no-waste message is everything. Chef’s kiss!
