Great vegan cookbook! Three for three!
I’ve made 3 recipes since I received my book 5 days ago. All three recipes were easy and delicious. The meals are also very satisfying. I’ve only made the dinner recipes and will be less likely to make the breakfasts or sweet treats. This book has 80 recipes, 30 of them are dinner recipes which all look delicious. There are many photos of the meals which I like. Overall, it is a very nice cookbook. I follow Gigi goes Vegan on Instagram which is how I knew of this cookbook. I pre-ordered and am very happy that I did.

Easy, delicious & quick vegan meals!
I knew I would love this book! I Follow her on IG and love how simple and delicious her high plant protein meals are. I’m really slow in the kitchen and I’ve saved so much time with Gigi’s recipes. She also uses easy to find ingredients. No need to go to specialty groceries.I transitioned to plant based last year and all her recipes helped me when I missed eating Italian food and needed it to align with my gym goals.Get the book. Make the recipes. You won’t regret it 🌱💚Side note: my husband loves everything I’ve made from Gigi too!

    Easy & delicious
As a new mom I have found it challenging to get back into a good cooking routine – until I found this amazing recipe book!! Have already made 2 of the recipes multiple times. Also made the tofu gnocchi with my husband for an at home date night 🥰 so much fun! Thank you! I love how straightforward Gigi makes delicious high protein vegan recipes 🌱

Some hit or miss, but better than my initial impression
Update:I have made 5 more recipes and they are all very good (brownie oats, grain salad with zucchini and a lemon yogurt dressing, tempeh cacciatore, pizza and green pasta). Therefore I added a star to make 4! One side note is that I live in a medium sized city (100K) but smoked tofu is not readily available and she uses it fairly frequently. Another mildly annoying thing is many recipes call for a partial pack of tofu, like 150 or 300g so then you have to figure out what to do with the awkward amount left.Original 3 Star review:I was really excited about this book as everything on Gigi’s Instagram looks amazing and I like her enthusiastic energy. The book is equally beautiful. I like that she gives options to not use protein powder in the recipes that call for it and that she includes metric and volume measurements. I also like that there are no meat analogs and only a few recipes that call for cheese analogs.Unfortunately of the 3 recipes I’ve made so far (from 3 different chapters- chia pudding, sweet potato soup, red lentils hummus), I haven’t been impressed with any, which is very unusual for me. I noticed is that the calorie counts, as is the case in many cookbooks that list them, are often just wrong. Even if you use the UK brand of tofu she recommends, etc, there is no way many of them are correct. I don’t count calories so it shouldn’t matter to me, but it’s a matter of principle that authors/publishers should be truthful. The amount of protein is highlighted for each recipe though she doesn’t specify if it is for the greater or lesser number of suggested servings (I think the greater). Regardless, the portions are so huge that I’m not surprised some of the recipes can contain 30+ grams of protein, but good luck eating all of that food unless you truly are an ultra marathon runner. Do note that this cookbook is definitely not for the soy adverse. I’d estimate that over half of the recipes contain tofu and/or soy milk.I wrote in the book so am going to keep it now, therefore will continue to try some other recipes and update accordingly.

    Good intro too
Great recipes, glad to find high protein ones as I’m older and trying to build muscle. Good explanations and realistic times for recipes because it says things like adding additional time for marinating.

  6. Nicole

    Spettacolare!
Bravissima, Gigi! What a wonderful, complete, vegan cookbook! Not only the recipes are delicious, but the book is SO BEAUTIFUL! the explanations are exceptional and easy to understand. Grazie, bella

    Waited months for this!
Love Gigi. Love the book. Packed full of great tips and fabulous plant-protein recipes. I really appreciate her recipes and her good vibes.

This is by far the best cookbook I’ve ever purchased! I have decided to work my way through all the recipes as they’re written and so far everything has been fantastic! My partner is not vegan but has thoroughly enjoyed every single dish and even asked for the “pasta topper” (aka Plant-based Parmesan-style cheese) for something he made!Instructions are clear and well written, ingredients are mostly already in my pantry (though I am learning all about silken tofu with these recipes!), serving sizes are mostly between 2-4 – which I love, and the flavours are spot on!10/10 recommend! Thank you!!

Excellent book, not only it has easy and useful vegan recipes, on top of that it explains very important information about having a balanced plantbased diet. I think this is an essential book to have for somebody that has a plantbased diet.

I’ve followed Gigi on Insta for a few years and have always loved her recipes. When she announced she was writing this book, I was there in a shot, pre-ordering it. It’s a wonderful blend of information, photographs, nutritional information and of course the easy to follow, high protein, plant powered recipes. No messing around with difficult to find ingredients, these recipes contain standard, easy to find, easy to use and tasty ingredients and did I mention plant powered protein? So far I’ve made the tofu breakfast pancakes (delicious), snickers overnight oats (beautiful and kept me full all morning) and harissa butter beans with zingy yoghurt sauce (super tasty and it’s already become one of my favourite ever meals). I knew I’d love this book, what I didn’t know was just how much I would love it. Honestly, it’s truly outstanding – as Gigi says “oh mamma”.

I discovered Gigi through her instagram account @gigigoesvegan where her enthusiasm and passion is infectious, and her content is top notch. I knew I would buy this book as soon as it was available and it is 100% what I hoped for. I generally eat plant based 99% of the time but I also go to the gym and lift weights so maintaining a high protein intake is important to me, and it’s sometimes hard to know exactly how much protein I would be consuming in an average plant-based meal so this book takes the guess work out of it, and gives me an idea of what a 30g protein meal contains. I thought that it might have a more Italian spin, given that Gigi is Italian, but actually it includes a broad range of cuisines, with recipes for tacos, pad thai and curries for example, so it won’t get boring. Having said that there are plenty of good plant based Italian staples – that’s a thumbs up from me. The main sections are breakfast, quick lunches, dinners, snacks and sweet treats. To round it out, there is high quality photography, beautiful quality paper and generally a lovely design in a nice sized book (not too big!).
