The BEST cat food on the market for my girl
I’m extremely happy with this food. My cat loves it. She’s been healthy on a meat-free diet for over a year and has had consistently great bloodwork from the vet. I switched her to this food about two weeks ago, away from another vegan brand. She was very excited about the new food and jumped right in. I noticed after the first couple days, her bowel movements were firmer and much less stinky. I’ve tried three other plant-based foods with her and they all gave her soft stools with a strong odor. This seems to work much better with her digestion, which makes us both happier.There are other reviews making broad, negative statements about plant-based and Vegan diets being unhealthy for cats. This is dead wrong and has been disproven by multiple peer-reviewed studies. The “obligate carnivore” argument is based on pro-meat biases and is simply not true. So long as a diet includes all of the macronutrients, amino acids, vitamins and minerals sufficient for health, it does not need to be sourced from animals. The volume of pseudo-scientific disinformation that supports animal cruelty and exploitation is staggering. I see this product as nothing short of a game-changer for the pet food industry. Of course some people are going to resist this change.For example, Taurine, which is the amino acid most commonly decried as insufficient for cats in a plant-based diet, is often supplemented into flesh-based cat foods from plant-based sources. The low quality material and heavy processing of most flesh-based cat food degrades the Taurine and it needs to be added back in (from plants).If you’re considering making the switch to a more humane diet for your cat, please do your research and don’t rely purely on reviews and comments to make important health decisions. That includes my review here. There’s a ton of evidence that plant-based diets are healthy for cats. Nature’s HUG Dry Cat Food: Great Intentions, But Not Purr-fect
I really wanted to love Nature’s HUG Dry Cat Food, and on paper, it sounded fantastic. Grain-free? Check. Hypoallergenic? Check. Sustainable protein? Double-check. But as any cat owner knows, the ultimate test is whether your picky eaters will actually eat it—and mine? Let’s just say they weren’t rushing to their bowls.While I appreciate the idea of “just like chicken,” my cats weren’t totally convinced. They’d nibble a little, but I caught them giving me that judgy feline look that says, “Where’s the real stuff?” I’m also on the fence about the concept of feeding carnivores something “like meat.” The science is there, and I’m all for sustainability, but my cats seem to prefer… well, actual chicken.At the end of the day, it’s okay. The bag is a bit pricey for something they’re lukewarm about, but it might work better for cats with sensitivities or super-adventurous taste buds. For my crew? This one’s a 3 out of 5.

Our kittens have been on this food for about 7 months now. We switched them due to chicken allergies. This food has completely transformed our kittens. They love the taste, they’re full of energy and they have the most beautiful fur coats! You can tell a lot about an animals health through their fur. The only issue we have had is the availability of the food. Love it otherwise!

CAUTION!
Vegan diets are not appropriate for most cats. And from just a quick glance over the ingredients, I spot at least 10 ingredients that I have, or have had, cats allergic to. I have a pair of half siblings right now that this food would be fatally flawed for. She’s allergic to yeast, he’s allergic to pulses like peas and lentils. Consult your pet’s medical professional to determine if this product is suitable to include in their diet. It’s especially important to work with a vet if you’re considering using it for an elimination diet.

Super fast shipment. Quality ingredients. Cats seem to really enjoy it. Slowly mixing it in with their regular food. I had to switch due to allergies for one cat. Hoping this improves their health. No bad smell. Good texture. Good size for the kibble. Good price. So far, so good. Will update when bag is empty.

Cat loves it and is very healthy
We have been using vegan pet food for 15 years with zero heath problems and have several friends whose cats have the same experience over even longer time frames. If anything, our cats and our friends’ cats are healthier and more vibrant than other cats. Also the unpleasant cat smell around the house is distinctly less on this and other vegan cat food. There cannot be large studies proving high quality vegan or vegetarian cat food like this brand works well with no destructive health impacts, if no company or agency will pay for them or do them, due to unthinking attachment to orthodoxy or being intimidated by vitriol. There is no logical reason to think that if the pet food contains all the essential nutrients and micronutrients, even if from non-meat sources, it will not be perfectly healthy for them. Don’t let yourself be intimidated by unpaid volunteer advocates of the slaughterhouse industry. Our cats love this particular brand and it is cheaper than some of the alternatives. They eat it dry or you can wet it a little. Our youngest cat loves the kitten variety.

I was skeptic if giving vegan dry food to my 7 month old kitten would be sustainable but he seems to like it. He is also doing as good as he was before switching to this. This is very expensive compared to regular cat food but so much better than other vegan cat food brands.
