The instant New York Times bestseller
Love and Lemons is back with make-now and make-ahead vegetarian recipes—including 100+ tested vegan options—for every kind of cook.
Over the years, Jeanine Donofrio’s wildly popular Love and Lemons recipes and her bestselling books have become the go-to gold standard for incredibly simple, deeply flavorful, and nourishing vegetarian meals. From the feedback she’s gotten from her enormously engaged online community, she’s sussed out that her fans all love her fast, veggie-first approach to recipes that fit into their busy lives and make them feel good. But they also fall into two camps of homecooks: those who keep a folder of go-to recipes they can easily make right now, and those who like to plan ahead. Love and Lemons: Simple Feel-Good Food caters to both (and those of us who toggle back and forth).
Each chapter—Breakfasts, Salads, Soups and Stews, Dinners, and Desserts—is divided into two parts: one for recipes you can make with minimal prep and ingredients and the second for food you can prepare ahead of time, like the perfect lasagna (with ideas for changing up the layers) and packable salads. Every recipe is supplemented by Jeanine’s trusted tips and flow charts that offer easy visuals on how to mix and match ingredients for fresh, must-eaes, whether you’re reusing ingredients or not. With recipes for Eat-the-Rainbow Blender Soups, a Mix-and-Match Tahini Cookies section, charts for satisfying grain bowls, and 3-in-1 recipes (three dinner dishes to make with one whole vegetable), Love and Lemons: Simple Feel-Good Food is a treasure trove of inspiring and easy ways to get delicious food on the table.

easy to follow recipes and beautiful photos
As a mom of four somewhat picky eaters, finding recipes that please everyone’s palate can feel like a monumental task. That’s why I was thrilled to stumble upon the “Love and Lemons Simple Feel Good Food” cookbook. With its promise of plant-focused meals that are both easy to whip up and delicious, I had high hopes for finally putting an end to mealtime battles.Let me start by saying, this cookbook exceeded my expectations in every way. From the vibrant, mouthwatering photos to the simple yet flavorful ingredients, every page of this book inspired me to get into the kitchen and start cooking. One of the biggest challenges I face as a parent is finding meals that are nutritious, appealing to my kids, and quick to prepare. The recipes in this cookbook ticked all those boxes and more. Whether it was the Sweet Potato & Black Bean Enchiladas that had even my most veggie-averse child asking for seconds, or the One-Pot Mushroom Stroganoff that magically disappeared from everyone’s plates, each dish was a hit. What I love most about this cookbook is its emphasis on whole, plant-based ingredients. As a family, we’re trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into our diet, and these recipes made it incredibly easy to do so. Plus, the “make ahead” options were a lifesaver on busy weeknights, allowing me to spend less time in the kitchen and more time with my family.Of course, no cookbook is without its flaws, and I did encounter a few recipes that didn’t quite hit the mark for my crew. However, with 125 recipes to choose from, there were more than enough winners to keep us coming back for seconds. In conclusion, “Love and Lemons Simple Feel Good Food” has become a staple in my kitchen, helping me navigate the tricky waters of feeding a family of six. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a busy parent like myself, I highly recommend adding this cookbook to your collection. With its delicious, plant-focused meals, it’s sure to become a favorite in your home too.

A Feast for the Eyes!
This book has amazing photos, a well thought out design, and organized in an effective and unique way. I especially like the 3-in-1 sections for dinner – three meal ideas using one vegetable or pantry staple. There are several mix and match sections (i.e., veggie tacos, pancakes, and cookies). Various “Guides to” also enrich the usefulness of this book.I’ve made several recipes from the book and they were all delicious! There are many innovative dishes in this book. One of my favorites is the spiced chickpea waffles (think falafel without the hassle) and savory vegetable cabbage pancakes. This book has quickly become a favorite and a go-to resource when I’m figuring out what’s for dinner.

Well done and kept in the spirit of the first two cookbooks!
I haven’t tried any of these recipes yet, but with that said there are a lot of great plant-focused recipes that you would expect. Likewise, the feel of this book and the pages, the layout, the photography, the break up of the recipes and prep tips throughout the book are what one would expect from Donofrio’s first two cookbooks. So, if you like those, you will probably enjoy this one too.I also like how the chapters are broken down into at the ready or in advance. Recipes that could be made within 45 minutes or less with easily found pantry ingredients are at the ready. Ones that can be prepared and frozen/be used for multiple meals/can be prepped for use as a side component/assembled quickly however you want during the week are her in advance options. I am trying to be better about having a lot of pre made components so that I can make an instant meal with them on those days that I really don’t want to spend a lot of time or effort.Regarding the ingredients, they are easy to find and are ones you probably already have in your pantry, regarding pantry staples anyway. The fresh produce called for are run of the mill veggies/fruits. Some recipes call for eggs or dairy, buts that’s as far as it goes with animal based products. Tips are given at the end of each recipe for substitutes/tweaks to make a recipe completely vegan or gluten free.** For vegans looking to buy this thinking it is a vegan cookbook because it says plant-focused, it is not. If it upsets you seeing animal based ingredients, then this is not for you. If that doesn’t bother you because you are okay with making necessary substitutions/omitting that particular ingredient when necessary, which is really easy with this book, then you will probably like it if you are a fan of her other two cookbooks.

Another amazing book from Jeanine Donofrio, the author of the Love and Lemons cookbooks!
Loving my other Love and Lemons cookbooks, I pre-ordered this book last year and what a lovely treat it is! My mouth has been watering as I’ve been going through this beautiful cookbook. It’s a feast for the eyes! Full of beautiful photography and gorgeous layouts with creative and delicious looking wholesome meals. The way it’s set up is so smart and helpful. It is both well written and well thought out. There are charts to customize a recipe per season or per your taste. There are great tips and loads of yummy looking dressings and combinations. In the 3 in 1 meal plan section, Jeanine takes one ingredient and does it 3 ways, so that you build on the recipe each of the 3 days. It’s a fun and brilliant concept. Also, it’s written for two types of cooks: those who love quick and easy recipes with minimal prep and ingredients and those who like to plan ahead. It’s nice to have the choice! I tend to want a quick meal on the weekdays and spend more time on the weekends. I cant wait to jump in!
