Tough conditions demand tough truck shocks. The large bore KYB MonoMax provides the additional stability that heavier, more powerful or high center of gravity vehicles demand. The KYB MonoMax is a heavy duty monotube shock absorber that provides the most handling, control and durability of any KYB shock; and it’s just for trucks. The MonoMax’s tough design automatically adjusts to driving conditions with fade-free performance. The KYB MonoMax has an outstanding reputation for vehicles that do real work, go off-road, tow a trailer or haul heavy loads. It uses a work-ready, zinc-coated steel piston ring and includes an off-road dust boot.
Maximum performance upgrade with up to 40% more damping performance than standard shock absorbers
Perfect solution when you need to upgrade suspension performance on your GM truck
Truck monotube design outperforms all other standard shock absorbers
Zinc-coated, stainless steel piston ring provides a positive seal in the most extreme conditions
Rubber boot to protect the shaft and keep dirt and debris away from the seals

High quality monotube design give heavy duty stability on Mercedes w163 SUV Front End
This is a great product from KYB.Granted It’s been on but a weeks time & 400 miles, but it shows strong performance & if the longevity is like other KYB shocks I’ve had, it should give me 100k or more of performance & safety.I am using these on a ‘Non-Stock’ application, a 2002 Mercedes ML500 (aka w163 chassis) SUV.I did call KYB tech support & they guided me to this exact ‘MonoMax’ shock which dimenions are a perfect match for the Front position of my AWD Mercedes Benz SUV.It’s other applications are Chevy Truck 2500 Front position and also Hummer H2.Both of those vehicles are probably a bit heavier than the ML, but not by much. In fact the ML Mercedes is a heavy beast of an SUV, whose smooth lines belie it’s 4800# weight. And that heft actually makes the OEM front shock, seem overtaxed and oversoft for some driving conditions. For example, the ML320 & ML500 have different engines, and the latter is a V-8 that probably gets driven harder with larger loads,Combine that with our poorly paved rough rural roads & my 2 sizes larger than stock tires & yet get what I had:Stock shocks worn out by 2.5 years & 40,000 miles !The stock shocks on our ML’s are actually KYB’s as well, but their more tame ‘Excel G’ which is a twin tube design. Not as heavy duty as these “MonoMax”.So I’m thrilled these fit fine & work very nicely – the ride is about 2x firmer than prior, and yet surprisingly, no increase in harshness, quite a blessing given our rough roads. They have improved roll stability so significantly that one might think I’d installed larger anti-sway bars ! Also braking & acceleration diving & squatting is greatly reduced. If you’ll be putting these on an ML, be sure to watch my YouTube video as there are 2 minor mods – easy as pie, but should be done to facilitate installation.I have shot but not uploaded the video just yet, but will shortly – so be sure to look for that on YouTube.I’ll title it: “Mercedes ML320 ML500 Front Shock KYB Monotube Monomax Upgrade for w163 chassis” or something very close to that. So, I’m going to give these a real world work out – and will let everyone know how they hold up.Please look for that YouTube video I’ll give more detail.David in East Texas

Ride quality is better than the Ranchos I had on before
These are great for the price and a better ride than the Ranchos I had on before these and they’re half the price! They also look good and match my truck since it’s red. Highly recommend grabbing a set of these and won’t be disappointed!

    Works great heavy truck
Shocks perform way better than OEM truck is heavy so it’s hard to dampen over bumps and potholes these shocks do a great job

    Good value for the money.
I installed them in place of the GM front electronic shocks on my 2wd 2001 2500 Suburban 8.1L. The upper shock bushing that was included in the box was not quite right. I reused the original rubber bushings. Other than that the install was pretty painless. I tow a very heavy enclosed trailer. Now when towing, the truck felt much more stable. It’s a road I travel often so I am familiar with what the truck does and the ride was stiffer but with noticeably less bounce and sway compared to the GM shocks over the same bumps. It was a welcome improvement. I am very happy with the purchase. Update: If you have electronic shocks on the Suburban 2500 and you get a dash warning light after replacement with these KYB shocks, disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the RTD fuse, reconnect battery. The warning light for the ride control will be gone and you can enjoy your new Kyb shocks.

    Best shock available
Not a better riding shock on the market that handles this level. Significantly reduces front end dive under braking also.

Best I’ve found for an HD truck
Application is 2001-2010 Chevy/GMC 2500HD 4WD pickup (Duramax), no lift, 275/60-20 tires:I’ve tried Bilstein 5100 and Rancho RS9000XL shocks and was so disappointed with both that I removed them with less than 20K miles each. Neither provided sufficient rebound control to stop truck movement after a moderate compression such as a high-speed dip or traffic hump, etc. resulting in a wallow and unstable feel. The KYB shocks are outstanding, even more plush (for a HD truck) over bumps, rail road tracks, etc. and the feeling of stability is excellent, absolutely no excess body movement after compression. Even a noticeably better feel when turning. These shocks are significantly cheaper than the other high-end/popular choices and actually perform. Nothing “looks” as heavy duty as the RS9000XL shock however; which has the largest body, shaft, and nicest looking hardware (and by far the most expensive), but the KYB performance, independent of cost, is the best I’ve found. I decided to try KYB after after installing KYB Gas-Adjust shocks/struts on my son’s Tacoma.

    Unprofessional
This is how I received both of my shocks in my order today. Just everything smashed into their boxes, hardware bags ripped open with the hardware falling out and even a washer lodged between the shock and rubber boot. This is the first set I have purchased from KYB as I have always been a Billstein fan but I promise if these shocks ride they way they were packaged they will be the last set I buy from them. $100 per shock is the usual price and I paid $70 per shock. Is the $30 discount so you don’t have to package the product with some sort of decency?

    Loaded down, GET THESE RED’S
Didn’t realize that my old shocks were so bad until I put these on. I have a 3/4 ton 4×4 pickup with a 500 gallon water tank and a 1300lb sprayer in it with 80ft. booms, These are the first of the red KYB’s I’ve bought, I figured they would be best for this loaded down truck. Usually, just get the silver ones. Very impressed with the Red’s on this application! Also, I know Bilstein shocks now come stock on a lot of vehicles but I’ve had 2 sets of them crap out 50,000 miles or less and switched to the KYB’s about 10yrs ago, glad I did!

Rápida entrega lo malo es que llegó incompleto ya que a uno le faltó la bolsa con los accesorios .

Got these to replace the original shocks on my Chevy 2500. Good shocks, really stiffened up my suspension.

Fits my 04 chev 2500hd diesel fine. Easy install. Front shocks came with 14 days after ordering still waiting ona delivery day for the back shocks.
