Too much gelatin and moisture
I have fed Evanger’s Canned duck and sweet potato dinner to my dogs for a couple of years now and wanted to find another canned duck limited ingredient dog food that was high quality. Unfortunately, Kona’s Duck Entree isn’t it. It has so much gelatin and water that it becomes a hassle to mix in with kibble. Probably 1/8 of the can is gelatin. With sensitive stomach dogs, I can’t risk that extra fat being in their diet. I also use the canned food to hide pills but this is impossible with such a loose product. If you have a dog that needs extra fat, then this is the dog food for you.

Awesome ingredients, and a major hit with the taste tester. I was looking for a chicken-free wet food that was low on fat content, and excluded peas and potatoes. The range and quality of ingredients are excellent. Highly recommend!

Dogs really like this one. Usually they wait in dining room area and watch me make their food in kitchen but, this time i guess they smelled this and where hovering around me the whole time…haven’t seen their bowls look like they haven’t been used yet after they ate in awhile…unfortunately they are both GSD’s with one being a giant GSD so this food that is great and of good quality just isn’t feasible at its current sixty dollar price for only 12 cans. For us it will be more a kibble topper with a can split between both dogs as a treat meal 2-3 times a week. However, if you have a sedentary small dog and even a medium sized dog that is like 45lbs like our mix-lab, this food can be feasible somewhat. one can is like 570 calories which is how many calories our senior mix-lab gets a day due to her being inactive nowadays.If prices go down some, i would definitely consider buying 3 cases a month and feeding this as one meal a day but, currently at $5.30 per can (with tax), that is quite a bit too much IMO..Food is soft and very moist, mixes well with kibbles.
