This candle is a favorite.
For me this fragrance takes me back to my childhood, sitting in front of the fireplace on Christmas morning or being with family around a campfire. It’s something I burn in mostly the cooler months, and I combine this fragrance with a pine based oil and use it during the holidays. It’s a sophisticated blend and my favorite Diptyque scent.

Quality is not up to snuff with Diptyque’s normal standards
Diptyque is an amazing brand – I’ve worn their perfumes (Philosykos and Vetyverio) for years, and the Feu de Bois candle is one of my favorite smells. Their products are definitely an indulgence, but the quality has always warranted the price tag; unfortunately, this purchase fell totally short of the standard I’ve come to expect.The wick in candle I received was trimmed down to the wax, and off center. The scent/throw also doesn’t seem as strong as I remember it being in the past. I’d really been looking forward to treating myself to this candle, so despite that anomaly, I went ahead and lit it. Diptyque candles I’ve gotten in the past have always burned smoothly, no tunneling (provided you burn them correctly), with the wick perfectly centered through the length of the candle (case in point: these candles actually come with a pamphlet detailing their painstaking production process, and commitment to quality). This candle, however, seemed to become more problematic as it burned: the wax started coagulating in a way I’ve never seen before, and the wick revealed itself to be more and more off center as it burned (image attached for reference).I’m incredibly disappointed – when you pay $90 for a candle, you expect it to be of the utmost quality (otherwise, no one in his/her right mind would spend that amount). With the wick being as off-center as it is, this candle is undoubtedly going to tunnel, severely reducing the life of it. I feel like I’ve literally just set money on fire! :(I have to wonder if this seller is hawking reject/imposter Diptyque candles; I’ve only purchased from reputable sellers in the past (Nordstrom/Barneys/Diptyque’s online store), and I’ve never experienced anything like this.
