    Delicious recipes! Highly recommended book.
I bought this book about 2-3 weeks ago and have made a different smoothie almost every day. They have all been very easy and delicious! I’m also a coffee addict and I swear I feel my addiction going away (I’ve been having a smoothie for breakfast). I try to eat about 60% vegan most of the time (but I still eat meat and dairy every now and then). But even if you’re not a vegan and just looking for ways to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet, this book is perfect. We have a local grocery store that stocks mostly organic produce and natural products so I have no problem finding all of the ingredients (like chia seeds, for example), but most of the recipes call for everyday items you could find anywhere. The range of combinations of ingredients will keep you far from bored. I’ve even started making some of the chocolate/peanut butter smoothies for dessert for my husband. They are much healthier than some other things we usually eat for dessert. My biggest tip is to stock up on ripe bananas and keep your freezer stocked with them.September Update: I found the first smoothie recipe I just couldn’t stomach. It was a spicy arugula and red beet smoothie. I like both ingredients but couldn’t stand it as a drink and had to pour it out. I guess with 365 smoothies there are bound to be some that I don’t like. I just didn’t want my review to be “too” glowing. I still think it deserves a 5 star rating overall.

    THE go-to smoothie book!
I knew I had to pre-order Kathy’s first cookbook when she announced it on her blog. I had been following her for a few months at the time, making things here and there, just beginning to dip my toes into vegan cooking. At first I was a little hesitant to buy a smoothie book however, just because it really wasn’t a habit of mine. That’s all changed! My freezer is ALWAYS stocked with bananas, as well as a plethora of fruits, assorted plant milk cubes and a few veggies thrown in.I still can’t get over the fact that there is a smoothie for every day of the year! I usually stick to weekends and I love looking up whatever particular ingredient I’m into at the moment in the index and picking out the perfect recipe. I really appreciate the nutritional information as well. Sometimes I’m looking for a heartier smoothie to replace a meal or share with my husband and sometimes I just want something simple & vivacious to kick-start my weekend. There are lot of yummy-looking photos that span the rainbow to get you excited. The beginning of the book is packed with all the smoothie info you could want, as well as a complete run-down of ingredients. One last note, I have a cheap $20 blender that’s been knocking out smoothies for several years now. It may take a bit longer than a fancy Vitamix or Ninja, but the final product is just as delicious!I’ve lost track of how many smoothies I’ve made, but I think my hands-down favorite is the I Heart Chocolate Shake. I usually just share this one with my husband for dessert. 😉

    Spot On
I was a bit disappointed to see that the first 76 pages are explanatory and informational only (with no recipes). BUT, there really are 365 vegan smoothie recipes that are separated in categories — (1) detox; (2) energize; (3) slim-down; (4) strengthening; (5) calming; (6) brain-boosting; (7) healthy-digestion; (8) heart healthy; (9) anti-aging; (10) mood boosting; (11) immunity boosting; and (12) beauty boosting. I’ve been a vegan for over 20 years so I am very familiar with nearly all of the ingredients in this book. Some are easily found at Whole Foods but maybe not in your average neighborhood grocery store (acai berries, buckwheat groats, hemp seeds, cacao nibs). If you don’t have a store near you, there are plenty of other recipes that include very normal and healthy ingredients. And the author also notes substitutes if some ingredients are not readily available. I have numerous vegan cookbooks. Numerous!! This cookbook gets pushed to the top of my list. If you are into smoothies already or want to start getting into smoothies, this book is ideal. (Nutritional information is also listed after each recipe which is incredibly helpful.) I don’t think you will be disappointed if you buy this book. It’s a whole lot of information and recipes for a very reasonable price.

Good Variety and Full of Ideas
I have a lot of cookbooks and am currently following a plant-based lifestyle. My go-to smoothie and juice book has been The Big Book of Juices by Natalie Savona, but I think the 365 Vegan Smoothies may be my new favorite. It doesn’t have a picture of every smoothie, but there are enough to satisfy when looking through trying to decide what to make. The font used is large, legible and the recipes are organized well with ingredients on the left and instructions on the right. Another plus is that the nutritional information is included for every recipe. I track calories, etc., and this makes it easier to decide what to make and how to account for it. The recipes are grouped according to themes: detox, energizing, slim-down, etc., which is OK, but not that necessary for me. I was much happier that the index provided listed smoothies by ingredient, so if I had plenty of kale, etc., I would know what recipes used it. I’ve mainly been concentrating on the watermelon recipes, which had some flavor combinations I hadn’t tried or heard of before and have liked them all. I won’t go five stars with my review, since I haven’t had the book that long to say for sure that it has earned it. However, I was very satisfied with my purchase and am willing to recommend it to others.

I love this book. In fact I love it so much I have already bought it for two friends who also love it. It has a useful introduction & has different themed smoothies for each month. I like how it gives a calorie and nutrient content for each recipe as well as ideas for ways to boost each smoothie with things like chia or hemp. Some recipes are very similar as has been pointed out in some reviews but there are 365 to choose from so I don’t see that as a problem. I’ve made about 20 so far & I would make nearly all of them again. There was only one I didn’t really like which had brazil nuts in. I thought I’d love it but looks like I just don’t like the taste of brazil nuts in a smoothie, I think it’s personal preference rather than a failing in the recipe. I highly recommend this book!

I lean towards vegan foods for myself, especially when it comes to smoothies. I would rather use a LOT less dairy, so I finally bought this book. I’m so glad I did. I have a few smoothie books and they just don’t compare to this gem. These smoothies are not only vegan, they are delicious! I love the total variety in here, not just fruit, not just creamy, etc. There are green smoothies, superfood smoothies, vegetable smoothies, herb smoothies, fruit smoothies, breakfast smoothies, you name it- its here! The smoothies I have had have been delicious, causing me to be more faithful to my menu than I usually am. They are easy, and the author offers so many ways to make your smoothie routine FAST for those who have crazy schedules. This book inspired me so much with the creativity- guess what? You really DON’T need dairy in your creamy smoothies! Each section and recipe is full of nutritional info, yet is not overwhelming. That is hard to pull off, so hats off to Kathy! The recipes are divided into monthly sections for her nutritional plan, but this book is flexible, so you can jump around and pick what you want. This book gives smoothies a totally new and fresh look, and has earned a well deserved place on my prized kitchen bookshelf, where only the most used and best loved make it. Worth every penny!
